Work Plan

In developing its Rolling Evaluation Work Plan, the IEA consults the System Council, the System Management Office and Board, CRPs, Centers and their Boards. The work plan includes priorities and schedules for CRP evaluations as well as other cross cutting thematic evaluations.

The four-year Rolling Evaluation Work Plan (REWP) provides the framework for the IEA’s evaluation. By the end of 2016, IEA will have completed 10 CRP evaluations as well as cross cutting evaluations including Capacity Strengthening, Gender and Partnerships, in addition to CGIAR institutions. These evaluautions will all be completed prior to the system-wide evaluation, and will form a central component of the system-wide evaluation.

Apart from conducting independent evaluations, the IEA also undertakes the following activities:

  • Development and promotion of evaluation standards and guidance
  • Evaluation capacity strengthening and facilitation of an Evaluation Community of Practice
  • Facilitation of evaluation follow-up and learning

In addition, and in preparation for the second CRP funding cycle, five CRP-commissioned evaluations were conducted with IEA quality assurance support and validation.
